Our Story
The aim of Musically Minded UK is to use music as a practice of mindfulness through practical workshops with young children.
Musically Minded UK is run by Angela who has had experience in Music education for over 14 years, is NLP (neuro linguistic practioner) qualified and has extensive training and experience of working with troubled children.
We believe that music is a valuable way of introducing children to not only its power and benefits but it is also possible to use music as a source of mindfulness. The practice of being in the present and ‘here and now’ is possible with music listening and participation.
Mindfulness while being involved in music enables both children and adults to immerse themselves in the present and helps them to stay clear of anxiety, ignores the negative voice in our head and our fear of being ridiculed or embarrassed.
Using sounds to access mindfulness is particularly useful for young children who find it difficult to express emotion or feelings and enables a release while being involved in musical activities.
